African Children's Choir

Selam!
OK, so many of you may already know that we are in the process of adopting our child from Ethiopia. For those of you that don't have much contact with us, we are really, really excited about our adoption. We have been working on it for a while now...we applied just under a year ago, didn't start the homestudy until last fall, and are at a waiting point for the US government to send us our Immigration approval. As soon as we get that, our dossier will be on its way (after a few checkpoints) to Ethiopia!

A church here in town brought in the African Children's Choir this past Sunday (April 27th). Usually we like these types of things, living in a small town you enjoy any kind of different entertainment, but because of our adoption this meant so much more to us. The Children were amazing, beautiful, their song and dance were both worshipful to God and poetry in motion. We had a difficult time keeping it together, of course we really did not try to. We basically cried our eyes out, wishing that we were in Africa with our new child, rather than the Lexington High School auditorium. We have to constantly remind ourselves that God has perfect timing, and He wants what is best for our family.

So....we wanted to show some pictures from the moving performance.

The kids all told us what they wanted to be when they grew up. "I want to be a doctor, a lawyer, a judge, a pilot." One little boy told us he wanted to be a Bishop. Here's to the future of Africa!!!

Ciao!

In response to your comment, there about 6 families that I know of through CHI in this area. Then there is a gal from Strongsville through another agency. My friend just met another family recently and they are from the west side. She gave me their blog info.

About a month ago, I was trying to pick a date to have our first "get-together" to start a Cleveland ETH group. Right after that came my referral so I think it's been put on the backburner unless one of the other families takes over with it. I thought we could all meet at a restaurant or a park, etc. One of the families and I received referrals (2 from the Ohio office :)the same day so I know 2 babies should be home soon. (God willing :) Sorry for the long comment! We'll definitely contact you when we get something planned.
